
Contemplative Outreach Central Ontario (COCO) is once again holding an in-person silent retreat from Monday, May 11 to Friday, May 15, 2026 in a new-to-us location at St. Francis Retreat Centre in Caledon, Ontario.
This silent retreat will give us the opportunity to deeply enter into our practice with several periods of Centering Prayer each day along with teachings on the anonymous work The Cloud of Unknowing led by Nada Conic.
All people interested in contemplative prayer and stillness are welcome.
Nada Conic
Nada Conic was born in Woodstock, ON, in 1959. She studied classics and philosophy at the University of Victoria, specializing in Plato. She went on to teach there and at the University of Toronto. She later studied spiritual direction (and theology etc.) at Regis College. She also taught adult education courses at St. Michael’s College on topics in Christian spirituality, especially the mystical tradition. She has led retreats on the spirituality of the Twelve Steps at Manresa, Pickering, elsewhere in Ontario and the Maritimes, the U.S., and Slovenia.
She is also interested in interfaith topics and translated works on the Bosnian War and the Trappist monks of Algeria. She has a private practice (mostly on Zoom) in spiritual and addiction counselling.

The method of contemplation we will be using is Centering Prayer. There will be an opportunity to learn more about how to do Centering Prayer at an informal Zoom meeting in advance of the retreat, if requested by participants.
Please note that grants of up to 50% of the cost are available.
